Display and Design
In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy A12 differs from its predecessor.
One of those smartphones with an altogether new design that could appeal to aficionados who were particularly happy with the Samsung Galaxy A11’s design
Four cameras are housed in a square camera module on the back of the Galaxy A12. An LED flash is located underneath the module.
The Samsung marking, which shows the phone is a Samsung, is located far down on the back.
We have an IPS screen up front that is 6.5 inches in size, somewhat larger than the 6.4-inch screens on the Galaxy A11 and Galaxy A22.
The resolution of this display is the same as that of the A11 at 720 by 1600. Its dimension is comparable to that of the less expensive Samsung Galaxy A02s, nevertheless.
Customers who decide to buy the Samsung Galaxy A12 will have a choice of four colours: Black, White, Red, and Blue.
The cameras
One of the greatest improvements over the Samsung Galaxy A11 is the camera.
The significant improvements made by Samsung are likely to appeal to fans who owned the A11 as well as enthusiasts looking for smartphones in this price range.
In contrast to the triple camera system on the Galaxy A11, we have a quad-rear camera system with higher-res cameras.
The back camera system consists of a 48MP main camera with an f/2.0 aperture, a 5MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro camera, a 2MP depth camera, and a 5MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
Moving forward, we have an 8MP front camera with an f/2.2 aperture. This camera may be used to take and record movies or selfies.
Software and Hardware
Like with the Samsung Galaxy A11, Samsung didn’t really provide much information on the CPU used in the Galaxy A12, but we do know that it is an Octa-core MediaTek MT6765 Helio P35 (12nm) processor made up of two quad-core processors clocked at 2.35 GHz and 1.8 GHz, respectively.
Additionally, the Galaxy A12 has three triple RAM options: 3GB, 4GB, and 6 GB.
Users will be able to choose between 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of storage. This equipment is powered by a non-removable 5000mAh battery.
The Galaxy A12’s user interface is built on top of the Android 10 operating system on the software side. With One UI 3.1, the smartphone may be updated to Android 11.
Connectivity
A USB Type-C connector, Bluetooth, WiFi, and a 3.5mm headphone jack are all included in the Samsung Galaxy A12.
Since this device only supports 4G LTE, it is not a 5G phone, therefore enthusiasts won’t be able to use 5G for downloads, uploads, and streaming like they can with the Galaxy A22 5G.

Conclusion
Given that the Galaxy A12 is one of Samsung’s less expensive smartphones, the fact that it isn’t a very speedy device shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
However, even by the standards of other low-cost smartphones, the phone is exceedingly hard to use. You may tell something is wrong when the keyboard lags during the first setup.
The recommended retail price of this phone in the United States is $179.99, which is just too much money for a device that has trouble performing even the most basic functions.
It is presently being sold through Samsung and the majority of carriers for $104.99, which is better but still doesn’t address the Galaxy A12’s performance difficulties. The final update, Android 11, will also continue to be available whenever it does.
If you can afford it, I would highly advise purchasing a Galaxy A32 5G instead, which typically costs $279.99 but regularly goes on sale for $205.
A smart alternative in this price range is to get a pre-owned iPhone 8 or iPhone X. The battery life won’t be as excellent, but you could replace it later, and even these older iPhones are speedier than the Galaxy A12.
Additionally, given that iOS 15 still supports devices as old as the iPhone 6S, they ought still to have a few iOS upgrades remaining.
