Payment for getting gas cylinder will be done in lump sum
As you all know, PM Ujjwala Yojana was launched with the aim of providing free LPG connections to women from economically weaker families. Through this scheme, free gas cylinders are provided to women on subsidy.
For which the subsidy amount is released by the government in their bank account. Some changes have been made in the process of payment of subsidy by the government on getting gas connection. Work is being done on two new structures by the Petroleum Ministry. These structures will be released soon.
Under the Ujjwala scheme, an amount of ₹ 3200 is spent for the facility of cylinder and gas stove. Out of which the subsidy amount of ₹ 1600 is borne by the government and the remaining amount of ₹ 1600 has to be paid by the consumers themselves through EMI. Now according to the new rules, the amount of ₹ 1600 will have to be paid in lump sum instead of in EMI.
Common Indian Gas Booking Number
It has been announced by Indian Oil Corporation through a press release that a common Indane Gas Booking Number has been launched for Indane LPG cylinder booking in India. By contacting this booking number, customers can book gas.
This booking number will be available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Through this new number, now customers will be able to book gas easily. Now even if a customer moves from one telecom circle to another, his Indane refill booking number will remain the same.
This new number will be activated from 1st November 2020 and the old system will be discontinued from the midnight of 31st October 2020. The common Indian gas booking number is 7718955555. LPG gas can be booked from this number only using the registered mobile number of the customers.
- If the customer’s number is already entered in the Indane Gas record IVRS will recognize the 16 digit consumer ID and the refill booking will be accepted on confirmation by the customer.
- If the customer’s number is not available in the Indane records, the customer will be asked to enter his 16 digit consumer ID. After entering the 16 digit consumer ID, the customer’s mobile number will be registered and LPG booking will be accepted.
NB: The 16 digit consumer ID is displayed on the Indane LPG Challan/Cash Memo/Subscription Voucher.
As you all know that many times cylinder theft and black marketing happens and many times it also happens that the cylinder reaches to a wrong customer. Keeping this in mind, on delivery of cylinder from 1st November 2020, you will have to share the OTP received on your phone with the delivery agent. Only then you will get the delivery of gas.
This entire process is named as Delivery Authentication Process/ Delivery Authentication Code. Some important information related to this change is as follows.
- Delivery Authentication Code will be first introduced in 100 smart cities of the country.
- The pilot project of this scheme is being run in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
- Under this new change, delivery will not be done only after booking the cylinder. The customer will have to share the OTP received on his registered mobile number with the delivery agent only then he will get the delivery of the cylinder.
- After successfully running this scheme in 100 smart cities, this scheme will be implemented in other cities of the country as well.
- This change has not been made for commercial cylinders.
- All of you are requested that if your details like address, mobile number etc. are wrong, then you should get it corrected. Otherwise you will face difficulties.
- In case your mobile number is not updated with the gas agency, the delivery agent will update your number at the time of delivery through an app with the gas agency. After which you will get a code. Which you have to share with the delivery agent.
